Govt forms sub-panel under IPB for evaluation of new projects

The committee to address the issues concerning infrastructure gaps to attract investment

PANJIM:  The State Government has constituted a sub-committee under Investment Promotion Board (IPB) for evaluation of new and expansion projects valued upto Rs five crore. 
The committee, headed by Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane, will also address the issues concerning the infrastructure gaps in order to attract investment. 
The sub-committee has come into effect from August 8, 2019. 
The six-member committee, which is also a recommending body to Investment Promotion Board , has members like Secretary Industries, member of IPB Harish Rajani, Member of Investment Promotion Board  Atrey Sawant, Member of Investment Promotion Board  Manoj Caculo, while Investment Promotion Board  Chief Executive Officer is the member secretary. 
The committee will evaluate all new project proposals including expansion, under the purview of IPB, valued less than or equal to Rs five crore and give recommendations before the Board Meeting. 
The Committee will discuss on addressing infrastructure gaps in Goa for attracting investments as per Goa Investment Promotion Act, 2014. 
Decision on any matters related to project proposals including but not limited to name change, address change, review of proposals, and revocation of proposals that may be ratified at the subsequent Board Meeting.
