Govt, MMC websites hacked

PANJIM: The Goa Police cyber cell registered a case after Government websites and Margao Municipal Council websites were hacked. However, despite this happening on a regular basis the government is unable to nail the hackers or stop the attacks.

Six Goa government websites were hacked on Tuesday apparently using a Palestine-based server, three weeks after the governor’s website was hacked by a Pakistan-based hacker, police stated.
This time around the websites of the Chief Electoral Officer and departments of Land Records, Civil Supplies, Chief Information Commissioner and the Margao Municipal Council were hacked. However, the hacking of the municipal council website that was not updated for a long time has still not been reported to the police.
State government portals were also hacked allegedly by a Pakistani cyber expert in July last year when 13 linked websites were defaced. Police claimed that the websites were hacked by a cyber group called H4x0r HuSsy.
