PONDA: The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Saturday blamed the government for not responding to criticism and suggestions by the Opposition parties.
Dhavalikar had demanded five days Assembly session on Friday to discuss the issues concerning the Goans. He has been raising various issues including the drugs not with the intention to harass the government but to stop the menace.
He said, “The government’s silence to criticism is not a good sign.”
Dhavalikar said, “The government is day by day committing mistakes with respect to issuing various circulars which later is forced to withdraw back.”
“There is urgent need of creation of 1000-bed COVID-19 Hospital for North Goa as the cases are increasing at an alarming rate and this is clear from the statement of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. Since the beginning of lockdown, I was demanding to create this facility but government ignored to it. The government should also rethink on the transfer of Health Secretary Nila Mohanan, who had done good job in creation of COVID-19 facility. Her need may felt again as the COVID to stay for few months,” Dhavalikar added.
Dhavalikar criticised the government for including former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar as chairman of Education Policy Committee.
He said, “Former chief minister is not a professor. All the other members are professors, principles and experts in their field.”
