PANJIM: All government offices situated in the private Spaces building at Patto-Panjim have been asked to shift to government premises by October 31.
The General Administration Department (GAD) has asked all the government offices situated on different floors of the Spaces building to vacate the same by October 31 and to function from new government premises from November 1.

There are as many as six different offices, namely office of the Civil registrar-cum-Sub Registrar, Tiswadi taluka; office of Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board; office of Rural Development Agency (RDA), North District; office of Real Estate and Regulatory Authority (RERA) and four Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) courts.
The four JMFC courts (A to D) is likely to function from the old High Court building, Altinho from Monday while, remaining offices will be accommodated in the BSNL buildings at Patto-Panjim and Porvorim. It is also learnt that some offices may be housed in the Goa Housing Board market complex building at Porvorim.
Replying to concerns raised by members during the Assembly session in July this year over the huge rent paid the government to run offices in the Spaces building when many government premises were lying vacant, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had assured them that all the offices would be shifted and housed in the government premises.
The government has been paying monthly rent between Rs four to Rs 5 lakh per office.
