Govt owes GSCB Rs 37 crore: Mule

PANJIM, MARCH 23 Chairman of Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd Ramchandra Mule on Tuesday informed he would have to write to the Centre if the State Government failed to pay the bank an outstanding amount of Rs 37 crore.

Chairman of Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd Ramchandra Mule on Tuesday informed he would have to write to the Centre if the State Government failed to pay the bank an outstanding amount of Rs 37 crore.
Mule said in 2004 the bank sanctioned Rs 30 crore to the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited to share its share capital and purchase new buses. In between Rs 10 crore was paid to the bank and that was all. The Government bank guarantee has expired in September 2009 and the same was never renewed, he mentioned.
He said the outstanding dues till date including interest is Rs 37 crore. I spoke to the Chief Minister and have given him a written representation. “The CM has told me he would look into the matter. If nothing happens then I will have to inform the Centre,” he observed.
