The Bill, which was passed in the Goa Legislative Assembly in March, was referred back to the government by previous Governor B V Wanchoo for clarifications.
“It is not rejected. He had referred it to me with queries which have been already replied to. Don’t mix things up. Sending it back to me, is not the same as referring it back to the Assembly… Since he received some representations in this regard, he had asked us to respond. We have done it and we will be sending them back to the Governor (Alva),” Parrikar said on the sidelines of the oath taking ceremony of the new governor.
He added that clarifications were required on some clauses pertaining to certain terminology that could give a different connotation or are ambiguous.
