Transport Minister Sudin DHvaalikar today said that the government was in the process of terminating the contract of the High Security Number Plates.
Based on the Sanjay Srivastava Committee report, the State cabinet recently decided to re-tender the job.
“We need to remove the financial implications and the file has been moved to the Law Department,” he said adding “the process of terminating the contract of Shmnit Utsch has already begun.
He further said that as soon as the process is completed the government will float new tenders for the project.
Commenting further, Dhavalikar said in the new contract there would be a clause by which the vehicles over 10 years would be given some sort of subsidy.
“It would be harsh if the vehicles above 10 years are charged the same amount,” he said.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Sudin Dhavalikar today said that the Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd will incur a loss of rs 42 crore in the current financial year 2010-11.
Dhavalikar said that the implementation of the sixth pay commission to the employees has shot the KTCL expenditure rs 65 cr to Rs 105 cr.
“Last year the expenditure was 63 cr but this year it will increase to 105 cr on account of 6th pay commission implementation,” he said.
He said that out of the 105 cr, 47 cr itself will be spent on salaries.
He said the government has decided repair the buses, which have not been working for years.
“This is to increase the revenue to the corporation,” he said adding “the government will also take up several other steps to increase the revenue of the corporation.”
