MARGAO: In view of the victim girl who was in Child Care Institution run by a private agency, Auda Viegas demanded that the government set up an After Care home for children as mandated by the Juvenile Justice Act.
The alleged victim was produced before magistrate Child Welfare Committee on Tuesday and CWC handed over victim girl to safe custody told SP South Goa Arvind Gawas.
The victimised child has to be groomed to come back to society and live a normal life and hence is trained in a trade that she is inclined to after she gets out of Apna Ghar where she can stay as long as she is a minor, Auda said.
In the instant case she said the girl has always maintained that she was finding it difficult to adjust to the regiment followed at the institute where she was kept and fled from the house. Auda said it would be right for the government to set up an After Care home according to the Act.
