Yogesh Kerkar member of GPCC IT cell said, “There have been a lot of negative comments on the internet mainly on the social media. The comments are all wrong and several images are morphed. There is a need to change this impression among the people of historic figures like Rajiv Gandhi. He should be remembered for the innovative work he’s done. Like for example his work in bringing Sam Pitroda to India and bringing companies like MTNL and BSNL to India.”
Last week AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh had addressed workers stressing on how BJP and RSS were misusing the social media to tarnish the image of the Congress and manipulate history, and a workshop was held for over 200 party members.
As part of the late Prime Minister’s birth anniversary on August 20, the party’s mahila unit along with the IT cell is organizing an All Goa Inter Secondary and Higher Secondary Power Point Contest on the topic “Rajiv Gandhi – His Vision for India.”
Mahila unit president Sunita Vernekar said the contest was open for secondary and higher secondary schools. Five best entries would be allowed to present their presentations during the Sadhbhavana Diwas celebrations to be held on August 20 at the Shivaji Memorial Hall in Sankhali.
Entries are to be sent to [email protected] before August 15, 2015 and the top three will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 3,000 for first place, Rs 2,500 for second and Rs 2,000 for the third place.
