PANJIM: Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has finally paid the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Rs 48 lakh towards the issue of No Objection Certificate (NoC) for operation of its multi-level car parking facility constructed near Santa Monica Jetty.
CCP Commissioner Deepak Desai confirmed that the payment had been received and that by Friday or next week the NOC for operation of the multi-level car park facility will be issued.
The project in Panjim had started about two and half years ago and had a soft launch on May 9. However, full-fledged operations had not commenced as CCP had refused to grant a NOC over failure of GTDC to pay the dues.
GTDC has asked the cash-strapped CCP to waive off the pending dues, however, the council had resolved not to permit any waiver.
Built on 13,556.45 sq metres, the parking facility has four floors including the terrace. In addition to the 550 cars parking facility inside the building, 33 cars can be accommodated in the open space outside the building.
