Very soon all the people from Curchorem constituency will get uninterrupted power supply according to Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral if everything goes well as proposed and planned by him.
It is almost after one year underground cable system of 11 KV Town-II feeder from Pontemoll power station to Kamral, Khamamoll and Pongirval was laid down at Kamamoll-Morailem at the estimated cost of Rs. 3.25 crores. They system is now completed and started functioning.
As per the information given by Cabral, under the project, 14 transformers which are on the 11 KV line of the Panchwadi feeder, have been removed and converted into underground cabling. “The project aims to meet the long-pending demand of the people to give them uninterrupted power supply,” said Cabral.
Similarly under the beautification project work which is under construction, the underground cabling of 11 KV will be done at Assolda feeder to solve the problems of power fluctuation and power failures at Xeldem, Avedem, Cotombi, Ammona and Assolda. “The work on undergrounding of cables which will be connected to Assolda feeder from Pontemoll at the estimated cost of Rs.3.5 crores is in progress and completed very soon,” informed Cabral..
“Soon after becoming MLA the first thing I did is to get installed the two 10-watt MVA transformers at the sub-station in order to solve the problem of power fluctuations. And I am in process of identifying where up-gradation of transformers are required,” said Cabral. He said that the Curchorem Sub-Station will not get overloaded and can take care of power requirement of whole Curchorem.
