PANJIM: With the monsoon season picking up, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has decided to resume its white water rafting on Mhadei River in the next 7 to 8 days.
“We will be restarting the white water rafting on Mhadei River in the next 7 to 8 days. The rafting is held between June and September during the monsoons,” said GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral.
GTDC has further said that the white water rafting will also start with additional attractions like personalised videos that would be provided to the rafter for recording their experience.
“This year, the white river rafting experience promises to be different as Goa Tourism has tied up with a top adventure sports video company in the country to capture rafting experience through a personalized video, which would be shared via WhatsApp or Google Drive the same day,” GTDC said.
Meanwhile, the corporation has also informed that as many as seven rafts will be put into operation, in which each trip runs for 10 km each.
White water rafting activities are conducted out in accordance with the internationally accepted norms. The instructors are highly trained and the operations run with a ‘safety first’ policy. Each passenger will be provided with safety equipments like life jackets, paddles following instruction sessions from experts.
