PANJIM: The Goa University (GU) has rescheduled offline examinations for the Third Year students to February 16. In a submission made before the High Court of Bombay at Goa, the GU on Tuesday informed that they have further postponed the offline exams.
The varsity had earlier scheduled the examinations to January 14, decision which was opposed by the students who argued that it was risk to answer offline exams owing to the third COVID-19 wave and Omicron variant. The matter was taken to the High Court that opined the GU should take holistic approach to the prevailing situation while carrying out the examinations in offline mode. The GU then ordered postponement of exams by three weeks to February 7.
Owing to further opposition to the exam date, the GU submitted to the High Court that it has now postponed the examinations to February 16. The government had declared closure of all the educational institutions till February 15 with fresh decision awaited, considering that COVID-19 cases are now flattening.
The High Court has accepted the submission and disposed of the petition.
