MARGAO: Villagers of Chandor and Guirdolim have decided to continue pressuring the government to drop the plan of State Highway 8, which would pass through Chandor and also resolved to explore legal options to redress their grievance.
A large crowd was present for the meeting held on Monday evening, where people were briefed about the developments and were told that the matter had been raised up with the PWD Minister and the TCP Minister, besides also informing Chief Minister.
The mischief played by some government servants, including PWD engineer and the Chief Town Planner, were also explained to the people and the need to check all the Official Gazettes of the Government of Goa was stressed.
Around 22 villagers volunteered to search the Official Gazette either online or by visiting the various libraries or even the government printing press, if necessary.
Former Sarpanch of Guirdolim Agostinho Antao and Chandor Club President Domnik Mendes conducted the meeting that was also attended by Chandor Cavorim Sarpanch Celina Furtado and panchas Edward D’Silva along with Guirdolim panchas Sonia Fernandes and Jose Antao.
