Margao: The Goa Women’s Forum welcomed the launch of the Women’s WhatsApp helpline 7875756177 by Goa Police.
“Since the outbreak of COVID-19, emerging data and reports have shown that all types of violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence, have intensified. This is the shadow pandemic growing and for which a global collective effort is required to stop it,” said GWF.
In a letter to the DGP GWF emphasized the important to create widespread awareness for the effective use of the helpline. It also wrote to various government depts, agencies, commissions as well as NGOs and women groups to publicise and create awareness about the helpline.
