Hafta collector thrashed

A person who used to forcibly collect hafta from migrant hawkers was finally caught by locals at Parra and beaten black and blue on Monday.
The locals had received complaints from migrant hawkers that they were being harassed by the person who had demanded hafta from them. The locals, on enquiry with several migrant hawkers, were on the lookout for the person.
The man was caught on the wrong foot after his motorcycle tyre got punctured. The locals and migrant hawkers immediately alerted others and confronted the man and allegedly thrashed him.
The person first denied his involvement in any such activities like demanding hafta from the migrant hawkers, but later admitted to his guilt.
The locals and migrant hawkers, however, they did not handover the person to the police as they felt it would serve no purpose.
