The locals and commuters travelling on the Porvorim highway from Delfino’s to the Mall-de-Goa, have raised concerns about the growing traffic congestion due to the haphazard parking of four-wheelers. This section of the highway experiences major traffic. Locals urged the authorities and the respected business owners to look into the matter and take suitable action
The area from the Delfino’s to Coquerio Circle witnesses huge traffic congestion daily, due to its connectivity to two major cities in Goa. Not only traffic but numerous fatal accidents were recounted on this road. When the owners of the parked vehicle try to remove the car from the parking lot, it leads to a blockade of the flowing traffic. This in turn causes a huge traffic as the vehicles keep on approaching.
Despite all these factors, haphazard parking along the highway continues to persist. This has sparked concerns and frustration among the locals and commuters as this problem has become a factor in the increasing traffic on the highway. With no traffic personnel deployed in these areas, locals have urged the authorities to look into the matter and take decisive action to relieve the commuters from the problem.
