PANJIM: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has alleged that the monthly installment deducted towards Housing Building Advance (HBA) Scheme of the government servants has not been deposited in the bank for the last three months.
The State government in May through a circular scrapped the Housing Building Advance (HBA) Scheme, initiated in 1988 for the government servants. The government had decided to charge prevailing bank interests to the outstanding housing loan advance from June onwards.

Addressing the media persons on Tuesday, GFP Vice President Durgadas Kamat alleged that the installment towards HBA has been deducted from the salaries of the government servants but has not been deposited in the bank for the last three months.
“The beneficiaries of HBA can cross check this from the banks,” Kamat said questioning as where has the money gone.
The GFP leader questioned whether the installment amount was used to clear the pending dues of the contractors or other payments.
“Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant needs to come out clear on the issue,” he said.
