Two tourists rescued from drowning at Vagator beach

MAPUSA: Dristi lifeguard  rescued  two male tourists  at Vagator beach on Tuesday. According to sources, two male tourists had ventured into the waters at the beach for swim.  Due to the rough condition,  the lifeguard requested them to come ashore. However the duo  refused the same. 

Eventually as they ventured into deeper area, the two tourists met with an oncoming wave which knocked the duo off to their feet and pulled the two further into the sea.

Sensing danger, the alert lifeguard called for backup over the radio as two lifeguards rushed into the waters with a rescue tube and board. By using the board, the lifeguards, rescued both and brought them to shore safely.

Seeing both rescued victims had difficulty in breathing, the lifeguards managed to administer oxygen immediately.
