PANJIM, JAN 16
The humiliation for NCP seems to be far from ending with Jose Philip D’Souza and Nilkant Halarnkar deciding to remain united against Micky Pacheco before the speaker on January 24.
Sources close to Halarnkar said that both of them will remain together as they have stood with each other during testing days when they were asked to step down.
Both legislators – D’Souza and Halarnkar, are also expected to tell the Speaker that the leader of legislative wing and whip has to be decided via the legislature party by majority.
“Since there is a majority against Pacheco, both of them will ensure that whip and leadership is not given to him,” sources said.
NCP Goa unit President Surendra Sirsat said that they will not take any preemptive action. “Let them say so before the speaker. We will wait for the decision of speaker,” he said.
Sirsat stated that the State unit has  made its stand clear that Pacheco be given both the posts as it has been ordered by the high command.
