Health centre worker killed in hit-n-run

A 56-year-old employee of Urban Health Centre, Vasco died in a hit and run accident at Matvem-Dabolim on Sunday at about 12 am.
According to Vasco Police, Vinayak S Kerkar, who was working as UDC at Vasco Urban Health Centre, was grievously injured in the accident. He was rushed to Chicalim Cottage Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
Kerkar was found along with his Bajaj Chetak motorcycle (GA-02-F-8144) on the road and police suspect that it must be a hit-and-run case. Vasco Police have registered a case and are investigating.
