MAPUSA: Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in various parts of Bardez taluka, disrupting normal life and causing damage to properties. Several incidents of trees falling on roads, houses, and electricity poles being damaged, have been reported leading to loss and inconvenience to residents.
In Guirim, a tree fell on a house, while in Camurlim, a coconut tree collapsed on another residence. Additionally, a tree near Lotlikar bar at Verla-Canca caused damage to a nearby house. Another incident was reported at Khorlim, where a tree fell near Kamlabai restaurant, partially damaging the building.
The roads were also not spared from the impact of the heavy rainfall. A tree fell on the road at Sirsaim and Pirna road, leading to disruptions in traffic movement. Furthermore, the main road to Tivim was completely blocked after a huge tree collapsed in the middle of the road.
Nadora also faced similar issues, with a tree collapsing on the road and causing further obstruction to traffic.
As the region grapples with the aftermath of the heavy rain, residents are urged to remain cautious and authorities are working to clear the roads and repair the damages.
