In a significant development, the High Court of Bombay at Goa has issued an order to seal 175 structures operating unlawfully within the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) and No Development Zone (NDZ) in the Anjuna area.
The division bench has specifically instructed the Anjuna Panchayat and the Directorate of Panchayat to promptly seal these establishments, bringing an immediate halt to all operations, with the assistance of the police.
As part of the directive, the Court has mandated the submission of a compliance report within the next ten days, emphasizing the urgency and seriousness of the situation.
This legal action comes after a year-long hearing by the Court on the matter of illegal structures in Anjuna. Notably, these structures had previously been issued show cause notices, further underscoring the ongoing efforts to address and rectify the issue.
