CANACONA: High velocity south westerly winds at 60 kmph, snapped a power line at Val in Agonda and electrocuted a horse and pig in Agonda village here.
As predicted by IMD, Canacona Taluka witnessed high speed winds. The animals died when they came in contact with the live wire that was lying on the ground.
Agonda Sarpanch Barsat Naikgaonkar blamed the electricity deptartment for the animals’ deaths. He said, “There are no guards at most of the electric poles in our village and if it was manned, this unfortunate incident could have been averted.”
