PANJIM: A high-voltage drama unfolded outside the District and Sessions court on Sunday morning when journalists of national news channels got into an argument with the Panjim police for not being allowed inside court.
As Tejpal, escorted by police personnel were taken in the court, the other set of personnel ~ already positioned outside the court stopped the journalists from entering the building. The collapsible gates were immediately closed.
The national media even went to the extent of threatening Panjim Police Inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai of flashing the news live if they were not allowed inside, and asked whether he has a copy from the Judge in this regard. After explanation that holiday court does not allow function alike other working days, they calmed down.
Police bandobast had already arrived at about 10 am to cordon the perimeter around the judicial magistrate (holiday court). Until the end, the media and Tejpal’s family were kept away from the hearing.
