PONDA: Pondaites on Thursday expressed unhappiness over the bad roads condition in Ponda town and internal parts of various villages in the taluka including those dug for sewage pipeline work.
The locals demanded urgent repairs and hot-mix carpeting of most of the roads before the onset of monsoon. At many places, the road stretch is in worst condition. The gravel is washed away and poses risk to bike riders.
The locals said, “The roads are not tarred for so many years. At many places, the roads which are dug for sewage pipeline work are in rough condition causing inconvenience to the commuters and accidents.”
The locals also expressed unhappiness over the hike in fines but the road condition worsened at many places. As just two months left for the monsoon, the locals hope that the government will hot-mix the roads on war footing.
