Hungry stray dogs attack people at Arambol beach

ARAMBOL: The stray dogs at Arambol beach have been suffering from hunger as the off-season has shut down restaurant businesses on the shore. The foreign tourists who usually used to feed these dogs are also in fewer numbers at the moment making it difficult for them to fend for themselves. This has led to dogs behaving in an aggressive manner which poses threat to the visitors.

On Monday, two tourists from Delhi were bitten by dogs.

“The dogs are wandering around the beach making it difficult for visitors to enjoy their time. Sometimes visitors come along with their domestic pets which aggravates stray dogs even more. The incidents of dog-biting tourists are on the rise and so, it’s necessary to take the anti-rabies drive as soon as possible. Last year three to four locals were also victims of the dog bites,” said former panch Dilip Vast.
