CALANGUTE: A tourist from Hyderabad was allegedly assaulted and robbed of a gold chain, mobile phone and Rs 5,000 cash late on Thursday night at Baga, Calangute.
According to the tourist identified as Shiv Kumar, he was walking at around 11.30 pm towards the car park at Baga when he was accosted by five persons who snatched his gold chain, and after threatening him with a knife, robbed his mobile phone and Rs 5,000 cash.
The thieves then fled from the spot. However, no complaint has been registered by the tourist.
