MARGAO: The government may have cleared the stand on building Western Bypass on stilts at Benaulim, however, there are high possibilities that the same may again crop up for the discussion at the Benaulim gram sabha scheduled on August 6.
In a proposal moved by Benaulim resident Cruz Fernandes, explanation has been sought from the panchayat body about the progress of the court case that has been filed by the panchayat demanding Western bypass on stilts.

A few days ago, PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral had firmly rejected the opposition’s proposal for constructing the Western bypass on stilts at Benaulim. The Minister stated that the project must be completed as per the directives from the High Court before December 31, 2023.
However, a group of Benaulim residents want their panchayat to update them on the petition and hence, there are possibilities that discussion may happen on the issue at the gram sabha.
