In this regard, a local Mayur Shetgaonkar had even filed a complaint with the Morjim panchyat on April 23. However, he said that panchayat has not acted on the complaint or ready to reply to the complaint. Complainant said that has been carried out cutting the hills with hot mixed access road to them.

“Under the nose of the local Panchayat, without obtaining any permission, the hill is cut and access road is made. Structures have come up however the panchayat is not ready to reveal names of the people who are involved in this,” Shetgaonkar’s complainant said.

“This particular area is on the hills where cashew plantation is done. Since I filed the complaint no action has been taken, neither the panchayat has carried any inspection nor issued any notice. Such constructions are not allowed on the hills but panchayat has turned blind eye towards this,” said Shetgaonkar.

Shetgaonkar further said that several construction are carried out in Morjim where the concerned owner puts up file for guest house and carries out some other business. Plans shown to the TCP are different and without verifying the plans, occupancy is granted, claimed Shetgaonkar.
