MAPUSA/MARGAO: In two separate raids conducted by Quepem and Mapusa police, at total liquor worth around Rs 5,66,350 was seized and handed over the local Excise Department on Tuesday.
Quepem Police headed by Police Inspector Deepak Pedneker, based on reliable information, on Tuesday, raided a storehouse situated near Avedem Village Panchayat, Quepem and seized unauthorised liquor.
According to Quepem Police, liquor worth Rs 4,78,350 was seized in the raid.
PI Pedneker said that the seized liquor bottles were sent to the local Excise Department for taking further action. Pedneker was accompanied by LPSI Veronica and staff during the raid.
Earlier, Quepem Police had conducted two separate raids and seized illegally stored liquor worth around Rs 78,270.
Mapusa police seized 87 boxes of Liquor worth rupees 88,000. The boxes were containing 12 bottles of 600ml each.
According to Mapusa police, based on reliable information, a raid was conducted at D’Mello Vaddo in Canca. During the raid, the liquor was found stored in a premise without valid documents.
Mapusa police conducted panchanama and seized stock was later handed over to the Bardez Excise Department for further action.
