IMA announces ‘paid quarantine facilities’ for docs, COVID patients

MARGAO: Indian Medical Association (IMA)-Goa has announced its “paid quarantine facilities”  for doctors, their families, healthcare workers and COVID patients referred by the association members with the consent of its president and secretary.

The facilities have started at Ocean Residency at Colva, Planet Hollywood at Utorda in South Goa and  Oceanic Wellness at Sangolda in North Goa.

Ocean Residency and Oceanic Wellness facilities have 17 and 15 patients respectively.

They are in touch with IMA doctors via telephone. 

The team of doctors led by Dr Rajesh Naik, noted consultant in medicine from Margao is supported by Dr Anil Mehendiratta Pulmonologist from Vasco, Dr Sandip Naik, Chest Physician from Ponda, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Oncosurgeon from Bicholim, Dr Suraj Prabhudessai Laparoscopic surgeon, Dr Sudhir Shet Consultant in medicine and President of IMA Goa state Dr Samuel.

“Patients need to purchase a kit containing pulse oximeter, thermometer and regular medicine which is kept at the hotel. The hotel provides for a comfortable stay with food and proper disposal of biomedical waste. IMA doctors will cooperate with the government to help in telephonic monitoring patients in home isolation, which will start this week”, informed Dr S Samuel, President, IMA-Goa.
