The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an Orange Alert for Goa on June 30 and July 1, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph across the state.
According to the latest weather advisory, both North Goa and South Goa are likely to witness intense spells of rain over the next two days, with strong surface winds expected to add to the adverse weather conditions. Residents have been urged to exercise caution, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall.

The IMD has further issued a Yellow Alert for the period from July 2 to July 6, indicating that heavy rainfall is expected to persist across the state, along with gusty winds of 40–50 kmph.
While the weather conditions are expected to remain active throughout the week, the alert level has been lowered after July 1, signalling a reduction in the intensity of rainfall, though intermittent heavy showers are still likely.
Authorities have advised the public to stay updated with official weather bulletins and follow necessary safety precautions as the monsoon continues to remain vigorous over Goa.
