PANJIM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Goa, has predicted that the maximum temperature is likely to remain between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius in the next 7 days.
“The maximum temperature is very likely to be in the range of 34-36°C over North and South Goa districts for the next seven days. There will be no large change in the maximum temperature for the next two days. However, there may be a rise by 1-2°C thereafter,” the IMD said in its daily bulletin.
It has predicted that hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets over North and South Goa districts on May 2 and May 4, 2024 but added there was no heat wave condition in Goa.
“Heat wave criteria for Goa state (coastal station) is when maximum temperature departure is 4.5° C or more from normal. Heat wave may be described provided actual maximum temperature is 37 degree Celsius or more,” it said.
On May 1, 2024, for the past 24 hours at 12.30 pm was Panjim 34.3 and 27.5 degree Celsius and Mormugao 27.7 degree Celsius.
