IMD predicts rain, strong winds across Telangana till July 11

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Telangana over the coming days, with Hyderabad and neighbouring districts expected to continue witnessing pleasant weather conditions. Overcast skies and intermittent showers have provided relief from the intense daytime heat experienced in recent weeks.

According to the IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at several places across the state. Along with rainfall, strong surface winds reaching speeds of 50 to 60 kmph are expected at isolated locations in all districts of Telangana.

The weather department has issued a statewide alert for strong winds, which will remain in effect until July 11. Residents have been advised to remain cautious, especially during thunderstorms and periods of gusty winds, as weather conditions could change rapidly.

For Hyderabad, cloudy skies and occasional rainfall are expected to persist, keeping temperatures relatively comfortable compared to the hot conditions witnessed earlier this season. The showers are likely to continue over the next few days, bringing further respite to residents.

The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over the next 48 hours in several districts. These include Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli and Jayashankar Bhupalapally, where weather activity is expected to remain significant.

Officials have urged people to avoid taking shelter under trees during thunderstorms and to exercise caution while travelling during periods of heavy rain or strong winds. Farmers have also been advised to monitor weather updates before carrying out agricultural activities.

The latest forecast indicates that the southwest monsoon continues to remain active over Telangana, with favourable conditions supporting widespread rainfall across the state. The expected showers are likely to improve moisture levels while providing continued relief from the prevailing summer-like temperatures in many parts of Telangana.
