MARGAO: Consumer rights NGO GOACAN has demanded that the government improve the quality and standards of its Saras exhibition, following violations.
Roland Martins, convenor of GOACAN, stated, “Training and awareness should be part of the exhibition by involving Departments of Legal Metrology, Food and Drug Administration, and consumer affairs.” Additionally, organisers should provide a complaint/suggestion book and display a banner with contact information. Martins added, “A map with stall numbers and stall owner names should also be displayed. All products sold at the exhibition should be genuine and have the necessary licenses.”
