CANACONA: The incessant rains on Friday interrupted day-to-day life in Canacona. So far, the southern-most taluka had recorded rainfall of 42 inches. Thursday itself had witnessed rains of about 4.6 inches.
The clogging of gutters had carried garbage on the road in some places and the overflow of water under the Patnem overbridge brought traffic to a standstill.
The non-stop rains for the last five days have also encouraged farmers to kickstart the farming work in Gule, Nuvem, Cotigao, Agonda, Khola and other areas. The Talpona, Galjibag and Saleri rivers also saw a slight increase in water levels.
