Delhi was placed on high alert on Friday following intelligence reports from security agencies regarding potential anti-social activities amidst rising tensions between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group.
A significant police presence was deployed throughout the city to monitor the situation, particularly during Friday prayers. Enhanced security measures were also implemented in sensitive areas, including the vicinity of the Israeli Embassy and Jewish religious establishments.
In addition to these measures, security agencies extended their alerts to other states and Union Territories to ensure the safety of Israelis living in India. Authorities in Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Goa were instructed to provide security to Israeli diplomats, staff, and tourists in their respective regions.
This heightened state of alertness in Delhi and other locations was prompted by similar security actions taken by several other countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. These nations increased security around potential Jewish targets and areas where pro-Palestinian protests were anticipated due to the escalating violence in Israel.
