Royal Challengers Bengaluru scripted history on Sunday by defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The victory secured RCB’s second consecutive IPL crown, making them only the third franchise after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians to successfully defend the title.
While RCB celebrated another championship, the biggest individual star of the season was Rajasthan Royals sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. At just 15 years of age, the teenage prodigy dominated the post-match awards ceremony, collecting multiple honours for his extraordinary campaign.

Sooryavanshi finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 776 runs and was named both the Most Valuable Player and Emerging Player of the Season. He also claimed the awards for the best strike rate and most sixes, capping off one of the most remarkable individual seasons in IPL history. His performances reportedly earned him prize money worth Rs 45 lakh along with a Tata Sierra car.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada finished as the leading wicket-taker, while teammate Mohammed Siraj topped the charts for most dot balls bowled.
