VASCO: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) and Youth Congress members on Wednesday confronted the ISL officials and stopped the bus ferrying players at Nagoa playground for providing employment and business to non-Goans.

The Congress leaders led by GPCC vice president Sankalp Amonkar did not allow the players to get out of the bus and practice on the Nagoa playground. The Congressmen demanded that Goans should get business with regards to the logistics services and others.
“This year the jobs related to logistics and other businesses have been given to the non-Goans which is unfair,” Amonkar alleged.
“The Congress is not against ISL or football players but the only condition is that business should be given to Goans. If Goans are deprived and business is given to non-Goans then we won’t allow practice sessions anywhere in Goa,” Amarnath Panjikar warned.
Janardan Bhandari claimed that there is no proper governance and the interest of the Goans is not being protected. Where is the government? If there is government then why this business is given to non-Goans by ISL.
The ISL officials later held a discussion with the Congress leaders wherein it was decided that a decision would be taken on Thursday evening.
