mapusa: : Commuters in Mapusa are irked with the Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) for the discrepancies in the pay parking system near the Mapusa.

They point out that they are forced to pay additional parking fees although the parking board still shows the old rates and have blamed the MMC for failing to do the needful and offer clarity in this regard.
As per the existing notice boards, the parking charges are Rs 10 for two hours. But, as per the pay parking fee collector, the parking charges have been revised to Rs 20 for four hours, although they have to pay Rs 20 even if they park for 10 to 15 minutes.
This has annoyed commuters who often initiate arguments pointing to what the board says and are then told about the new fees from the fee collector.
