The International Travel Mart, to be held in Goa next month will provide an opportunity for the entire tourism industry in India to reinforce business contacts and establish new ones.
The ITM in Goa will offer buyers rich and sublime experience of coastal belt of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra coupled with hinterland across Karnataka like Hampi and Dandeli, the organisers have said.
Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s (GTDC) managing director (MD) Nikhil Desai said that ITM Goa aims to provide greater mileage to the tourism fraternity.
The organisers said that ITM Goa will provide the perfect setting for discerning entrepreneurs from all over the country and abroad to discover new avenues and renew old ones in these sectors.
“This will be the only travel mart in the world to offer buyers rich and sublime experience of coastal belt of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra coupled with hinterland across of Karnataka like Hampi and Dandeli,” he said.
He said that though Goa is already a prime holiday destination, ITM hopes to provide an opportunity for the tourism industry in India as a whole to reinforce business contacts and establish new ones.
“We would like to provide an ideal platform for marketers and customers to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest. We believe it will be a perfect time for people in the hospitality business to identify and attract even more potential customers,” GTDC MD said.
The event is scheduled from October 14 to 17 in Panjim in association with the State tourism department and supported by Indiatourism.
The mart will see active media promotion through various avenues including press advertising, outdoor publicity before and during events, besides direct mailers and special institutional promotions and invitations to prominent professionals in the travel industry.
GTDC Chairperson Shyam Satardekar said that tourism is highly competitive industry and through the mart we aim to put our best foot forward.
“It is an ideal platform for all members of the hospitality business to meet and exchange fruitful and innovative ideas. Goa is one of Asia-Pacific’s fastest growing markets, both for leisure and business and we need to drive home our advantage”, he added.
