PANJIM: The officials of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) inspected the jetty, meant to dock a floating restaurant in River Mandovi following a complaint filed by activist Kashinath Shetye alleging illegal mooring of the vessel.
In his complaint to various government authorities on June 6, Shetye alleged that the owners of the vessel do not have permissions from the GCZMA, CRZ and other authorities.
While the complaint has also been submitted to departments such as Electricity, Excise, Food & Drugs Administration, Fisheries, Goa State Pollution Control Board, Captain of Ports and Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP), the GCZMA officials are reportedly the first to respond to the complaint through the inspection held on Thursday.
Goa’s first floating luxury lounge and bar ‘Watermark’ was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of other member of the Legislative Assembly recently. Sawant had said the floating lounge would be attraction for Goa’s tourism industry.
