PANJIM: The Department of Town and Country Planning (TCP) has asked Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) to re-align, revise or reduce the open spaces in the existing industrial estates or areas identified as industrial.
TCP has published Goa (Regulation of Land Development and Building Construction) Act, 2008 (Goa Act 6 of 2008) for the information of the public who are likely to be affected. The draft notification will be taken into consideration after 30 days.
TCP has inserted a regulation, wherein the Goa Industrial Development Corporation may re-align, revise or reduce the open spaces maintained by it in any existing Industrial Estates or Industrial Area as per the standards specified.
“The open space area that may be available to be released over and above the requirement of 7.5% of the total area shall be deemed to be zoned as industrial area,” the notification stated.
TCP said no plots or division of plots are permitted in the industrial area upto 20,000 sq mts. Above 20,000 sq mts upto 50,000 sq mts of area, only two plots each of 20,000 sq mts are permitted.
Further, four plots each of 20,000 sq mts are permitted in the area of 50,001 sq mts to 1,00,000 sq mts area. For area above 1,00,000 sq mts, four plots are permitted for 1,00,000 sq mts and one plot for every 50,000 sq mts of area thereafter.
