MARGAO: JMFC Sahir Shirazali Issani on Monday, set July 19 as the date for hearing arguments, before framing of charges the case filed against former minister Francisco alias Miccky Pacheco and two others in connection with matter of driving a vehicle on the beach after Pacheco and the other two appeared in court.
Along with Pacheco, the other two named in the charge sheet are Robin Fernandes from Betalbatim and Sebastian Vaz from Loutolim. The chargesheet was filed following a complaint lodged by Fanny D’Silva against Pacheco and others.
The charge against Pacheco is that on March 11, 2018, Pacheco and his companions abused Fanny D’Silva son’s Melroy with filthy language and also threatened him with dire consequences including his death.
The trio have also accused of driving Pacheco’s vehicle across Melroy’s parachute at Betalbatim beach and driving the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, nearly hitting Melroy, thereby endangering his life and safety.
The trio have been charged under sections 336 (endangering life or personal safety), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506(2) (punishment for criminal intimidation). While APP Utkarsh Awde represented the State, Pacheco and his companions were represented by Adv Byron Rodrigues.
