PONDA: A juice centre owner at the new KTC bus stand in Ponda has refuted claims that water from the toilet was used to prepare lime juice.
It may be recalled that Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), during a recent raid at the new KTC bus stand Ponda, had directed a canteen operator to suspend business, while ordering another juice centre owner to stop using the juice machine.
As there was no water tap connection to the two units, FDA had suspected that the water from a nearby toilet was used in the preparation of food and refreshments.
In press note, Dilip Naik, owner of the juice centre said he had brought water from his other shop at Indira market in the    old bus stand.
“There is no question of using water from the toilet. KTC employees at the new KTC bus stand are witness to my practice,” said Naik, the owner of the centre.
