Karnataka has launched the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of its 2026 electoral rolls, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) set to begin door-to-door verification across the state from June 30. The exercise aims to update the electoral roll using October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date and ensure that all eligible voters are included before the publication of the final list.
Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbukkumar said BLOs will visit every registered voter between June 30 and July 29 to distribute partially pre-filled enumeration forms. Voters will need to affix a recent photograph, verify or update their details, sign the form and return it to the concerned BLO.

The draft electoral roll will be published on August 5, following which electors can file claims and objections until September 4. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be released on October 7.
The Election Commission has deployed more than 68,000 officials for the revision exercise, including over 59,000 Booth Level Officers, along with Booth Level Supervisors and Electoral Registration Officers. Political parties have also appointed nearly 1.15 lakh Booth Level Agents to assist in the process.
Enumeration forms have been printed for more than 5.54 crore voters whose names were on Karnataka’s electoral roll as of June 16. According to the Election Commission, over 91.6 per cent of electors have already been mapped, with the mapping process continuing until the end of July.
The Chief Electoral Officer clarified that voters will not be required to submit supporting documents during the initial enumeration. Documents will only be sought if discrepancies are identified after the draft electoral roll is published.
To make the process more accessible, Voter Registration Centres have been established at Gram Panchayat offices, while each enumeration form will include the contact details of the concerned Booth Level Officer. The Election Commission has urged all eligible voters to cooperate with the verification process to ensure an accurate and updated electoral roll.
