PANJIM: IPS officer couple Karthik and Priyanka Kashyap, probing some major criminal and corruption cases, has been transferred to Mizoram after over five years of being posted in Goa.
The transfer order issued by the Home Affairs Ministry on Friday comes ahead of the enforcement of the code of conduct for the upcoming by-polls in the State and Lok Sabha elections. The two officers would be replaced by IPS officers Aslam Khan and Pankaj Singh, who are presently serving in Delhi Police.
The Kashyap couple has been in Goa since 2013, and was earlier transferred in October 2016 but not relieved as the State headed for the Assembly elections in February 2017 and the code of conduct was in force. This order has been cancelled.
