The villagers used to notice these foxes in the forest during their visit. However, the locals say off late these skulk of foxes have disappeared as these animals are not seen even atop the hills.

A local Narayan Naik claimed that in recent times the villagers can see muster of peacocks and their train rattling.

According to the forest officials, they have seen several foxes in the forests across Ponda Taluka. Some senior citizens said they are not coming close to villages as houses are constructed atop the hills. Borim locals residing close to Kavlem said they have seen foxes in the Borim jungle.

Kavlem locals ask if the foxes are in deep jungles then why is it that their barking cannot be heard.

Some locals feel that since the villages are illuminated and with houses constructed atop the nearby hills, these foxes refrain from visiting residential areas.

However, the villagers said leopards and wild boars are crossing the road in residential areas. Recently, muster of peacocks have been frequenting the residential areas and train rattling.
