Kenyan held with drugs worth Rs 2.4 lakh

CANACONA: In a major narcotic raid, Canacona police lead by DySP Uttam Raut Desai caught a Kenyan red handed with alleged unlawful possession of narcotic substances worth Rs 2.4 lakh on Tuesday evening. 
The alleged drug peddler Joseph Achola Ouma was intercepted near a popular beach in Canacona taluka as per the specific information provided by a police informer, sources said.
On search, the accused was found with alleged illegal possession of 3.10 gms of Cocain and 2.25 gms of LSD both valued at approximately Rs 2.4 lakh in international drug market.
Police said that he is arrested under Section 22(C) and 21(A) of NDPS Act and the information is passed on to Foreigners Regional Registration Office, Panjim.
PSI Dheeraj Devidas who is investigating the case said that the raid was conducted under the leadership of DySP Uttam Raut Desai and consisted of PSI Prashal Desai, PSI Damodar Shirodkar, PSI Ramchandra Naik, police constables Uday Shet, Rajesh Pagi and Sandesh Naik.
